Beautifully written piece that covers so much. I have sometimes wondered about whether or not I would fight for my country, and currently I wonder if I can take it if the "wrong" presidential nominee wins. At the same time, there is so much that needs to be mended and leaving would not be working for the good.

It gets harder to pack up and move as we get older. Going elsewhere is not really a solution isn’t it?

This is a wonderful piece. My wife and I gasped at the news of Navalny's death. We are still gasping. And your words and insight here are quite powerful. Thank you for this.

Excellent. I live in the desert and my husband and I steward 1 acre and beyond. Every day is a wonder. Navalny’s death hit me hard but his influence will carry on. We all do what we can.

We have been where we are (Oakland, CA) for more than 30 years, so in spite of my efforts, we have accumulated a few things during that time! Plus we have friends and family nearby! There have been times--when traveling somewhere--that I thought it might be fun to live elsewhere for a while, but we love it here so no plan to change things.
